Special Programs

360 Leaders assist incoming sixth graders with transition activities and serve as year long mentors. They serve as ambassadors to the community at events like Back to School Night, Open House, and Spring Transition Night. They are leaders in the school working to create a positive climate. 

Adelante is a program for first generation students who have demonstrated a desire to be successful in school and can benefit from more support in order to solidify their knowledge of content and raise their grades. It is a place where students can do their homework, study with the support of two teachers, ask questions, and have access to necessary resources including computers.

Allies in Diversity is a club where all students belong. Topics and activities will focus on LGBTQ+ topics, ethnicity, race, culture, and school climate.

Centennial staff nominate students for this monthly recognition. Students are nominated based on how they successfully demonstrate our Centennial R²ise core values of Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, Safety, and Empathy. Students are recognized on a central school board and in our all-school announcements.

Centennial provides programming for Talented and Gifted (TAG) students based on their identified needs and in accordance with BVSDs identification policy, which is based on a body of evidence. Find out more here. 

Centennial has committed to Zero Waste through Eco-Cycle’s Green Star Schools program. We join local businesses, individual volunteers and government officials in partnering with Eco-Cycle to build a model Zero Waste community.

Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) is defined as a whole-school, prevention-based framework of team-driven, data-based problem solving for improving the outcomes of EVERY student through family, school, and community partnering and a layered continuum of evidence-based practices applied at the classroom, school, district, region, and state level. Response to Intervention (RtI) and Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBiS) are integral parts of MTSS. 

Centennial has a strong foundation of safe, inclusive learning environments, support for strong assessment practices, and clear processes for instruction and layered interventions that meet students where they are and move them forward.

From supporting our emerging bilingual students to meeting the needs of our students who are gifted and talented we are committed to creating a system that does not allow for any student to fall through the cracks here at Centennial. This is a system that catches students when they need support and responding with the appropriate interventions in the classroom. Our highest goal is to be effective with all of our students and ensuring that they get the skills and supports they need.
