All School AnnouncementsLast Week of School Schedule
Students will attend all periods on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday next week. Here is the schedule. Thursday is the last day of school for students. Plans for Thursday are detailed below.
Locker Clean Out with EcoCycle
EcoCycle will be here on Wednesday, May 21st in the afternoon to help students divert landfill waste by recycling, reusing, and repurposing their unwanted locker items and school supplies. After our locker cleanout event, students will not need any school supplies. If your student anticipates having a lot of items to bring home on Wednesday, please send them to school that day with a bag to carry all their locker items home. 6th graders, please hold on to your social studies atlas for next year!
6th/7th Grade Last Day of School
6th and 7th graders will arrive at school on May 22nd at the usual time. Doors open at 8:35 am and classes start at 8:45 am. We ask that 6th and 7th graders not bring bags to school on the last day, as they will not have lockers. Students will attend all classes on a shortened schedule. In the afternoon, our 6th graders will enjoy games and other fun events at Centennial. Our 7th graders will take a walking field trip to Elk’s park in the afternoon.
7th grade parents/guardians are required to complete this online field trip form in order for students to participate.
Please note that 6th graders will be at various locations in the building and 7th graders will be out of the building in the afternoon. If you need to pick up your student early that day, please let the office know WELL in advance of the last day of school so that we can be sure to excuse your student in a timely manner.
8th Grade Last Day of School: Late Start
8th graders should arrive one hour later (doors at 9:35 am) on the last day of school. Our 8th grade Continuation Ceremony will be held at 10:30 am that day in the big gym. A reception will follow. Families are welcome to attend the ceremony and reception. All other events of the day are for students only.
Lunch will be provided to all 8th graders. Students will go to the Elk’s Club pool after lunch around 1 pm. Students should bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, water bottle, and towel. Please complete this field trip permission form. Students will return to Centennial at the end of the day and can be picked up at the regular time (3:45 pm).
Please note, as usual, that students are only permitted to leave with their parents/guardians and their corresponding emergency contacts in Infinite Campus. If your student is leaving early that day please let the office know WELL in advance of the last day of school to avoid any delays in excusing your student.
See Principal Tucker’s letter to families.
8th Grade Awards Ceremony
Our 8th grade Awards Ceremony will take place in the auditorium on Tuesday, May 20th at 6 pm. Families will be receiving an email if their child is receiving an award. All students and families are welcome to attend.
8th Grade Chromebooks
8th graders will keep their district-issued 1:Web Chromebooks at the end of the school year. Per the parent agreement, these devices are now four years old and will become the personal property of the student and their family. Please ensure that all outstanding 1:Web fees are paid. Check your Infinite Campus Parent Portal to view any outstanding Chromebook balances. See this document for detailed information.
6th/7th Chromebooks
Please review this document from BVSD IT regarding what to do if your student’s chromebook needs repairs over the summer break. Contact the IT service desk (720-561-4357) with further questions. See this document for more information regarding taking care of your Chromebook and keeping your student safe online.
Medication Pick Up
Please make arrangements to pick up your child’s medication(s) on or before the last day of school. If it is not absolutely necessary for this medication to be at school until the last day of classes, then please pick up the medication as soon as possible.
If your student will need us to administer medication next year, please have your healthcare provider complete the Medication Administration Authorization Form. All medication orders must be renewed each new school year. Any medication not picked up by the end of the day on the last day of school will be disposed of per BVSD policy. Contact Kathleen Gilbert with any questions.

Centennial PTOLAST DAY of SCHOOL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
The last day of school is a BUSY day for all of our kids and staff and a very SPECIAL day for our 8th grade families. We'd love the gift of your time to help all of the planned activities run as smoothly as possible. It's tradition at Centennial for 6th and 7th grade parents to help out with 8th grade continuation so that graduating parents can sit back and really enjoy the momentous occasion. If you're free to help, it's a really nice way to pay it forward, knowing you'll soon be appreciating that same generosity.
