ʺA library is not a luxury but one of the necessities of life.ʺ
--Henry Ward Beecher

Jonathan Georgitis was born in Massachusetts but grew up in near Denver, Colorado. After earning a degree in Anthropology from University of California, Santa Cruz, he started teaching snowboarding to students of all ages for the Aspen Skiing Company. He eventually returned to Boulder, earning his teaching degree in secondary language arts from CU, Boulder.

Throughout his educational career, Jonathan has worked as a language arts teacher at both the middle and high school level. He also spent two years working in Ecuador at The American School of Quito. Jonathan found his way to Centennial after earning his masters degree in linguistically diverse education. He later earned his school library media certification and has been the Librarian at Centennial since 2011 . The aspects he loves about his job are integrating technology into learning, collaborating with students and teachers, and sharing his favorite young adult books. When he is not in the library, he can be found cycling with his friends, playing piano with his daughter Cecilia, and trying to keep up with his son Max.
